Day 1: Arrival in Maui
- Embark on your journey to the enchanting island of Maui, a tropical paradise with stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and vibrant culture.
- Upon arrival, rent a car and settle into your accommodation near Kihei. We stayed at Maui Coastal Hotel for comfortable accommodations and easy access to nearby attractions.
- Nearby there’s Kinaole Grill Food Truck. Start your Maui vacation with some amazing coconut shrimp and calamari, as well as other island-inspired fare. Or you can head over to Kihei Kalama Village for more food options.
Day 2: Kihei & Wailea
- Morning:
- Explore the charming town of Kihei, known for its beautiful beaches and diverse dining options.
- Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the coast or dive into the crystal-clear waters for some snorkeling.
- Afternoon:
- Visit the upscale resort community of Wailea, famous for its luxury hotels, world-class golf courses, and pristine beaches for an afternoon swim.
- Evening:
- Take a walk through the Wailea Beach Path for breathtaking ocean views and explore the Shops at Wailea for high-end shopping.
Day 3: Road to Hana Scenic Drive
- Embark on the iconic Road to Hana, a scenic drive that takes you through lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and charming villages.
- Plan for a 6-hour drive filled with stops at picturesque spots like Hookipa Beach, the Twin Falls, Waianapanapa State Park, and the enchanting Hana town itself.
- Don’t forget to stop by at Aunty Sandy’s or Halfway to Hana on the way for the famous Banana Bread.
- A few miles past Hana Town is Oheo Gulch (also known as the Seven Sacred Pools) in Haleakala National Park. Go on a short walk on Kuloa Point Loop Trail (0.5 mile round trip) that leads down to the ocean for a great view of the pools.
- Keep track of the time. You will need 6 hours for a return drive back to Wailea. Or stay in Hana Town for the night and make the drive the next day.
Day 4: Haleakala Crater & Surroundings
- Morning:
- Enjoy a relaxing morning swim at Kamaole Beach nearby.
- Afternoon:
- Visit the awe-inspiring Haleakala National Park, home to the dormant Haleakala Volcano. Haleakala Crater is one of the world’s largest dormant volcano craters. The surrounding landscapes, with their unique flora and fauna, provide excellent hiking opportunities.
- Puʻuʻulaʻula, also known as the Summit Observation Deck, is the tallest point on the island of Maui at 10,023 feet. Witness the breathtaking sunset from the summit, offering panoramic views of the island and beyond.
- Make stops at Kalahaku and Leleiwi overlooks for more scenic views.
- Halemau‘u Trail and Keoneheʻeheʻe (Sliding Sands) Trail are popular hikes that are around 2 miles round trip that you can do while waiting for the sunset.
Day 5: Kaanapali
- Morning:
- Walk around Kihei Kalama Village and enjoy some shopping, as well as stop for a meal at one of the many Kihei restaurants. If you like coffee, stop by Lava Java for macadamia flavored Maui grown coffee!
- Visit Paia Fish Market for their delicious seafood dishes. The wait can be long with popular restaurants so get there before lunch rush.
- Afternoon:
- Start the drive to the western part of Maui. Make a stop at Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop for some amazing pies and sweet treats.
- Check into Hyatt, a luxurious resort offering top-notch amenities, exquisite dining, and stunning ocean views.
- Discover the beauty of Kaanapali, a resort area renowned for its pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, and vibrant marine life. Relax on the golden sands of Kaanapali Beach or enjoy water activities like snorkeling, paddleboarding, and jet skiing.
- Evening:
- Enjoy dinner at one of Hyatt’s restaurants with a sunset view over the water.
Day 6: Kaanapali & Lahaina
- Morning:
- Continue exploring Kaanapali, with options for shopping at Whalers Village, indulging in beachfront dining, or taking a sail along the coast.
- Afternoon:
- Relax at your resort. Swim in the ocean or sit by the pool while enjoying some Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice.
- Evening:
- Visit the historic town of Lahaina, once a bustling whaling village and now a vibrant cultural hub. Stroll down Front Street to explore art galleries, boutique shops, and enjoy a meal at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
- Don’t miss the Banyan Tree Park, home to one of the largest banyan trees in the United States.

Day 7: Departure
- Morning:
- Spend your final hours in Maui soaking up the sun on the beach or enjoying the resort’s amenities.
- Afternoon:
- Before getting on your flight, stop by Geste Shrimp Truck near the airport. It’s famous for its garlic shrimp and offers a variety of shrimp plates that are a hit with locals and tourists alike. Of course, you must have poke while in Hawaii!
- Bid farewell to Maui and catch your flight back home, filled with memories of an unforgettable Hawaiian adventure.
